Fishing Website Design
A while back I took over administration of my client’s fishing website and successfully SEOed his site so that he was #1 in Google. This past season he got more business than he could handle and finally had the budget to do a full site redesign.
Development
I used Wordpress as a CMS, making updating the site a breeze. I added a “news” section and broke the fishing page down into more specific webpages about each type of fishing trip he offers. I added a multiple photo gallery feature so that he could organize all his photos from different seasons and trips. I improved the contact form to obtain more relevant information from his customers and added a CAPTCHA to prevent spam.
Marketing
I also did the marketing footwork for my client. I located all of his press mentions and took testimonials from his previous customers. On the homepage I put logos of the famous publications in which he had been mentioned. I engaged other fishing websites to swap links with him.
Design
Overall I made the design slicker. I cleaned up the markup, replacing the table-based HTML with more semantic HTML. Before, his site looked very “web 1.0″ with image links and static content, now the design fits in with current style trends.
