Comic-O-Matic
The Itinerary
This project was an assignment for my digital art class. The requirements were that it had to be interactive. My idea was to create a sort of Mad Lib comic where the user would input certain words and they would be used in the script of a comic.
The Journey
The first step for this project was to develop the story and what items would be used as variables. Once the story was created, the images for the comic were developed with Photoshop. Image maps for each box were created automatically using slices in Photoshop. The variables were passed to the comic via the get method. The URL string was then retrieved and edited with Javascript functions.
The Destination
The comic is simple yet amusing. The crude drawings and resulting bizarre story line add to its humor.
