Baja Postcard
The Itinerary
The assignment was to create a standard postcard with Photoshop. The requirements were that it had to be printed and it had to tell a story.
The Journey
I decided to tell the story of a road trip that I took to Cabo San Lucas. A map of the peninsula was juxtaposed with photos taken at different locations on the trip. Our route was highlighted in red and the places where the photos were from were labeled on the map.
The design was tested both with and without lines linking the picture to its corresponding place. I decided that the line was necessary for the audience to connect each picture with the place.
Every photograph was chosen for a specific reason. Every picture included the passengers and each one but the last included our vehicle. In the last picture, we have arrived at are final destination and are soaking up the sun in Cabo San Lucas.
The Destination
The postcard effectively and creatively tells the story of our trip without much language use. The postcards were printed and mailed to each of the passengers.
