Although I do like creating custom profiles on Myspace, I have to admit that Facebook is a million times more sophisticated. The friend feeds are addictive and don’t require any extra effort on part of the user. You can see what your friends are doing without having to go to each of their pages and without them having to explicitly tell you. With myspace, you have to go from page to page to page making comments to keep content fresh.

I made this logo and it turns out it’s an interesting juxtaposition of the minor pagan? holidays of St. Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s day. After making it, I realized it would make for a good color blind test since people who can’t distinguish between red and green would be confused here. If you’re color blind, you’ll only see St. Paddy’s day; if you’re not, you’ll see both.

This neato magnifying glass widget (loupe.js) lets webmasters add some interactivity to an otherwise static image. Pictured here is a profile of Homer Simpson. Peering through the magnifying glass into his brain, Dr. Hibburt (or you) can see the thickness of Homer’s skull and the scarcity of his gray matter.

Loupe.js also lets you use the magnifying glass to zoom.

If I’m not making any money from advertising, not even enough to pay for my hosting, why on earth am I tarnishing my site with ugly advertisements for unnecessary goods and services? Because I work for an ad network.

In order to design an interface for people to buy, sell, manage and optimize online advertising, I need a first-hand experience how people do it. Mainly, I run AdBrite ads, however, today I finally pasted some Google AdSense on my site. It’s the like the adage “eat your own dog food.” If I’m gonna be designing these interfaces, I damn well better use and enjoy them myself.

Back when Google released their code search, the first thing users did was search for the profanities of frustrated coders. Common queries included the common curses like “fuck” and “shit.”

I, however, was searching for more creativity and comprehensiveness. I searched for the most vulgar phrase in an attempt to find a list of banned words. I succeeded in my quest and found the Multilingual Swear List, a complete list of about any vaguely profane word in more than 100+ languages.

multilingualSwearList.txt, the file is called, can conveniently be used as foreign-language swearing dictionary. Did you know that ‘kwanii’ is Arabic for ‘faggot’?
