I finally got fed up with cutting and pasting addresses from the Internet into Google maps. I knew there had to be a better way, so thanks to the wonders of the open source software movement, I did a search to see if anyone had come up with a solution.

Turns out I was right. Akshat Aranya made a Map This! Firefox add-on and it works exactly how I would have wanted it to: you highlight the address, right click, map this, and it opens in a new tab. Perfect. (Another solution would have been to transform the addresses into links like Gmail does, but I’d find this intrusive outside of Gmail.)
